TEXAS LONGHORNS

The Longhorns have failed to cover in eight of their last 11 road games and are 1-4 against the number in their last five games overall. They’re also 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games following a win and are 0-6 ATS in their last six games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game.

USC TROJANS

The Trojans have covered in four of their last five home games, are 7-2 at the betting window in their last nine games overall and are 7-1 against the number in their last eight games coming off a win. That said, they’re just 2-5 at the betting window in their last seven non-conference games.

OUR PREDICTION: All right, I’ll bite. Tom Herman is 6-0 as a head coach against teams ranked in the Associated Press Top 25. The last five wins were by at least 10 points and two came against teams in Oklahoma and Louisville that were ranked third in the nation by AP. Granted, Herman doesn’t have Greg Ward and a dominant defensive line in Texas like he did while at Houston. But I’ll buy into the Herman/underdog narrative and take Texas to show up tonight. I doubt they’ll be an upset, but I don’t think the Longhorns will be embarrassed either.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK 3 PREDICTION: TEXAS LONGHORNS +15.5
