Bet on Georgia Tech vs. Boston College
The Eagles weren’t a winning team in 2015, posting just a 2-10 record, but they did manage a slightly better record against the spread, going 5-6-1 ATS. That was due in part to their defense, as they allowed just 254 yards per game in 2015, which was the fewest in the nation. On the flip side, that made for a very ugly offense. Not surprisingly, BC hasn’t settled on a QB, debating between Darius Wade and Patrick Towles. The Eagles can help the offense by establishing a run game. Last year, the leading rusher was QB Jeff Smith, who had just 450 yards. That has to improve and has to improve on Saturday.
Georgia Tech is looking to bounce back from an awful 2015 season where it went 3-9. The Jackets were also just 3-9 against the spread last season. There is reason for optimism though, as Justin Thomas is back under center as a dual-threat option QB. Marcus Marshall also returns, giving the Jackets plenty of options in the backfield. Tech also has a respectable defense, that was 43rd in the country last year. Tech gave up just 368 yards per game.

This game should be a tough fight. It will be a physical contest, as Tech likes to pound the rock and BC is a gritty defense. Boston College is likely to still struggle a great deal on offense since they have quarterbacks that aren’t solidified in a starting role. They could be pressing to make plays, which usually leads to mistakes. The Tech defense isn’t outstanding, but good enough to handle Boston College. That means the offense probably just needs a few scoring drives to win and cover in this one.
