College Football Week 10 Predictions: Navy vs. Notre Dame 11/5/16

Navy vs. Notre Dame Predictions

Following a big win last week, can Notre Dame turn that into another big win today when it takes on Navy at 11:30AM ET?

This game will be taking place from EverBank Field in Jacksonville, FL on Saturday on CBS. According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Notre Dame is the favorite in this game, as the Fighting Irish are getting odds of -7 points against Navy. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 64.5 points. Notre Dame has won five straight over Navy, going 3-2 against the spread in those five games.

Bet on Navy vs. Notre Dame

Notre Dame is coming off a 30-27 win over Miami at home last week to snap a two-game losing streak and move to 3-5 on the season. They are also 3-5 against the spread, covering in all three wins. Notre Dame’s defense has shown some improvement over recent week, holding opponents to just 54 points combined in the last three games. They are now giving up 27.6 points and 388.1 yards per game this season. On offense, Notre Dame is averaging 30.3 points and 413.5 yards per game this season. DeShone Kizer is leading the unit with 2,038 passing yards and 16 touchdowns while rushing for 316 yards and seven scores. Josh Adams is the leading rusher with 510 yards and two touchdowns while Equanimeous St. Brown has 37 catches for 683 yards and seven scores.

Navy is coming off a 52-45 loss at South Florida last week to fall to 5-2 on the season. The Midshipmen are now 4-2-1 against the spread, failing to cover in both losses this season. The Midshipmen are struggling on defense this year, as they are giving up 28.9 points and 436.1 yards per game. They have given up at least 28 points in three straight games. Offensively, Navy is posting 35.4 points and 444 yards per game. Their rushing attack is among the best in the country, averaging 296.6 yards per game on the ground. Will Worth has run for 618 yards and 13 touchdowns while passing for 987 yards and six scores. Chris High has added 445 yards and five scores, while four others have at least 100 yards on the season.

Notre Dame has the offensive talent to score points on this struggling Navy defense, the real question is how will the ND defense do against the Midshipmen? I suspect Navy will put together some scoring drives, but the Irish are showing improvement on the defensive side of the ball. Look for ND to do enough to win this game by two scores and give Navy another loss.
