SMU vs. Navy Odds
No. 22 Navy looks to live up to its new-found top-25 ranking on Saturday when the Midshipmen host SMU at 3:30PM ET on the CBS Sports Network.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Navy is the clear favorite at home in this game, as the Midshipmen are getting odds of -21 points against SMU on Saturday. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 61 points. Navy has won five straight against SMU, covering the spread in four of those five meetings. These two have hit the under in three of their last four encounters.
Navy is 7-1 on the season, 5-0 in the AAC, 6-2 against the spread and 4-4 with the over/under total. Navy is coming off a 45-20 win at Memphis last week for its third straight win since a 41-24 loss to Notre Dame. The Midshipmen are averaging 35.4 points per game behind their third-ranked rushing attack that averages 326.5 yards per game. On defense, Navy is allowing just 19 points and 360.6 yards per game. Keenan Reynolds has thrown for 516 yards and three scores while running for a team-high 791 yards and 13 scores. Chris Swain has added 690 yards and eight touchdowns.
SMU is 1-8 on the season, 0-5 in the AAC, 4-5 against the spread and 6-3 with the over. The Mustangs are coming off a 60-40 loss to Temple last week for their seventh straight loss. SMU is putting up 30 points and 412.3 yards per game on offense, but the defense is giving up 45.4 yards and 525.7 yards per contest. Matt Davis has thrown for 1,942 yards and 15 touchdowns this season to lead the offense while also rushing for 552 yards and eight touchdowns. Courtland Sutton is the leading receiver with 40 catches for 748 yards and nine scores.
