BYU hung on for an 18-16 victory as a 1-point favorite last Saturday night against Arizona. Quarterback Taysom Hill was efficient in the win, completing 21-of-29 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown, while Jamaal Williams rushed 29 times for 162 yards. The Cougars’ defense was excellent as well, intercepting Wildcats quarterback Anu Solomon twice in the victory.
Utah wasn’t overly impressive in its 24-0 win over Southern Utah last Thursday but the Utes did pick up the victory despite failing to cover as a 28-point home favorite. Troy Williams was 20-of-35 passing for 272 yards and two touchdowns, while receiver Tim Patrick caught five passes for 105 yards and both of Williams’ touchdown passes.

OUR PICK: The Utes have been a poor bet at home of late, failing to cover in four of their last five games in Utah. They’re also 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game and are 0-4 in their last four home games versus a team with a winning road record. On the other side, BYU has been a great bet in September, covering in four of its last five games in the month. The Cougars are also 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous contest.
