Bet on Wyoming vs. Nebraska

The Cornhuskers started things off last week with a nice 43-10 win at home over Fresno State, covering a 28.5-point spread. Dating back to last season, Nebraska has covered in four of its last five games, which goes to show that Mike Riley had his team on an upswing heading into 2016. The Cornhuskers had 406 yards of offense while holding Fresno to 274 total yards and creating two turnovers. Nebraska kept it simple, rushing the ball 51 times while attempting just 13 passes. The team rushed for 292 yards with Devine Ozigbo leading the way. He had 103 yards and two scores.

Wyoming picked up an impressive 40-34 win over Northern Illinois last week to start its season with a victory. The Cowboys were a 7-point underdog and they have covered in six of their last eight games. The game was an offensive showcase, with each compiling over 460 yards. The Cowboys were pretty balanced, rushing for 243 yards and passing for 245. Josh Allen threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 70 yards and a score.

Wyoming’s win over NIU is more impressive than Nebraska’s roll past a struggling Fresno State. NIU is typically a strong non-BCS power and has had no problem winning those type of games before. This could be a really nice springboard for Wyoming. Nebraska didn’t unveil much on offense last week and could remain conservative with its play calling this week. The only difference is that Wyoming should be able to have more success on offense than Fresno. Look for this Wyoming team to keep it somewhat interesting.
