Bet on Maryland vs. Central Florida
Maryland is off to a 2-0 start thanks to a 52-13 win over Howard and a 41-14 win at Florida International. The Terrapins are 1-1 against the spread in the two games. Though the competition hasn’t been real tough, Maryland is still putting up just under 500 yards per game while holding opponents to only 320.5 yards per contest. The offense has been great on the ground, rushing for 554 yards as a team. Lorenzo Harrison and Trey Edmunds have combined for 257 yards and three touchdowns so far. Perry Hills has been managing the offense well, throwing for 336 yards and three scores with no interceptions.
Central Florida opened the season with a 38-0 win over South Carolina State, but then suffered a 51-14 loss at Michigan last week. The Knights are also 1-1 against the spread. UCF is averaging just under 400 yards per game while allowing 335 yards per contest. In last week’s loss to Michigan, the Knights gave up 328 passing yards to the Wolverines. The issue for UCF now is that QB Justin Holman is dealing with a hamstring injury that has him questionable. He has thrown for 212 yards and two scores thus far while also rushing for 86 yards and a score. Not having Holman would be a big loss.

Maryland is trying to build some confidence with new coach D.J. Durkin. So far, it’s fair to say they should have that confidence. The Terps are running the ball at will and Hills has been making plays when called upon. Central Florida was beat up last week by Michigan and now Holman is hurt. Even if he can play, he won’t be 100 percent. That will take a lot out of the already limited offense UCF has. Look for Maryland to win comfortably in this game.
