College Football Week 6 Florida State vs. Miami Predictions 10/8/16

Florida State vs. Miami Prediction

In one of Miami’s biggest games in years, will the Hurricanes cover when they host Florida State at 8:00PM ET tonight?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Canes are now 3-point home favorites versus the Seminoles after opening as a 2-point favorite earlier this week. As for the total, the number opened at 65 but has been bet down to 64.5.

The Seminoles are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games coming off a loss and are 4-1 against the number in their last five games following an ATS loss. They’ve also covered in seven of their last 10 games overall and have cashed in five of their last seven contests after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game.

On the other side, the Hurricanes are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four games overall and are 4-1 ATS in their last five games coming off a straight up win. They’re 4-1 at the betting window in their last five games in October as well, and have cashed in four of their last five games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game.

OUR PREDICTION: The Hurricanes haven’t faced stiff competition this season so it’s hard to know just how much better they are than the Seminoles, who have already lost two games this season, but with losses versus Louisville and North Carolina. Regardless, FSU has surrendered a school-record 177 points through five games this season and that’s the difference in this matchup. While Miami has to contender with Dalvin Cook, FSU’s defense has been a sieve this year so Brad Kaaya and Co. should rack up plenty of points at home to cover.
