Miami vs. Georgia Tech Prediction

Can No. 14 Miami go on the road and stay unbeaten when it takes Georgia Tech today at Noon ET on ESPN2?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Miami is favored on the road, as the Hurricanes are getting odds of -7 points against Georgia Tech. The over/under total for the game has been set at 54 points. Miami has won six of the last seven in this series and the Hurricanes are also 6-1 against the spread in those seven games.

Mark Richt has Miami looking sharp so far in 2016. The Hurricanes are 3-0, covering the spread in all three games. Miami is averaging an impressive 51 points and 514 yards per game on offense while giving up just 7.7 points and 217.3 yards per game. Miami’s run game has been its strongest asset right now. Mark Walton has run for 401 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the unit while Joseph Yearby has 256 yards and four scores. Brad Kaaya has added 694 passing yards with seven touchdowns.

Bet on Miami vs. Georgia Tech

Tech fell to 3-1 on the season last week in its ACC opener when it lost 26-7 to Clemson at home. The Jackets are now 1-1-1 against the spread in lined games for the 2016 season. Tech is putting up 24.3 points and 329.3 yards per game on offense while giving up 14.3 points and 339.3 yards per game on defense. Tech has four players over 100 rushing yards, led by Dedrick Mills with 201 yards and five touchdowns. Quarterback Justin Thomas has thrown for 364 yards and a score as well.

Miami hasn’t been playing great competition as of yet, but the one thing the Hurricanes should be able to count on is its defense being able to limit what Georgia Tech can do on offense. From there, the Hurricanes will just need to find a few big plays to get past the Jackets defense. I don’t expect this game to be too high-scoring, but I think Miami is ready to show it’s a legit ACC contender.
