College Football Week 7 Predictions: Mississippi State vs. BYU 10/14/16

Mississippi State vs. BYU Pick

Will BYU roll up enough points to cover against Mississippi State tonight when the two teams clash at 10:15PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Cougars are 7-point home favorites versus the Bulldogs while the over/under currently sits at 57.5 points. While the side hasn’t moved, the total has gone from 53.5 up to 57.5 at most books.

Bet College Football Week 7 Games

The Bulldogs are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games following an ATS loss and are 8-3 against the number in their last 11 games coming off a straight up loss, although they’re just 5-11-2 at the betting window in their last 18 games following a double-digit loss at home.

The Cougars are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven home games, are 5-1 against the number in their last six non-conference games and are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games versus a team that owns a losing road record. BYU is also 5-1 against the number in their last six games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five games played in the month of October.

OUR PREDICTION: Despite the positive trends for BYU entering this game, the Cougars are winless at 0-5 against the spread in their last five games versus SEC opponents. They’re also 1-6 against the number in their last seven games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. With wins over Toledo and Michigan State the past two weeks, the number that BYU is laying looks to be inflated a tad. Despite its issues this season, Mississippi State still has SEC talent on its roster and should be able to keep within the seven-point spread tonight.
