College Football Week 7 Predictions: Wake Forest vs. Florida State 10/15/16

Wake Forest vs. Florida State Prediction

Will No. 14 Florida State get a challenge from Wake Forest when the two meet this today 3:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Florida State is favored at home, as the Seminoles are getting odds of -21 points against Wake Forest. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 54 points. FSU has won four straight meetings with Wake Forest and the Seminoles are 5-2 against the spread in the last seven games of this series.

Bet on Wake Forest at Florida State

Florida State moved to 4-2 on the season and 1-2 in the ACC last week with a 20-19 win at Miami. The Seminoles are 3-2 against the spread in their five lined games for 2016. FSU still has plenty of concerns on defense, giving up 32.7 points and 411.3 yards per game. The offense has been able to make up for the defense for the most part, averaging 37.8 points and 491.8 yards per game. Dalvin Cook has been the focal point, as he has 785 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. Cook also has 20 receptions for 345 yards. QB Deondre Francois has thrown for 1,557 yards and nine touchdowns with just two interceptions. Francois is dealing with a shoulder injury, but is probable to play.

Wake Forest is coming off a 28-9 win over Syracuse last week. The Demon Deacons are now off to a strong 5-1 start with a 2-1 mark in the ACC, while going 3-3 against the spread. Wake’s defense has been its strength, as it is allowing just 18 points and 367.8 yards per game. Offensively, Wake could certainly be better. The Deacons are putting up 24.3 points and 346.5 yards per game through a balanced attack. They average 170 yards on the ground and in the air. Matt Colburn is the leading rusher with 361 yards while John Wolford has thrown for 826 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 276 yards and five scores.

FSU as a 21-point favorite is pretty scary. The Seminoles have only won one game by that margin this year, which was against Charleston Southern at home. Wake Forest isn’t the same team we have been accustomed to in years past. The Demon Deacons are quite competitive and bring a strong defense to the field. Look for them to do enough to keep this game competitive.
