The Longhorns haven’t been a good bet this season, covering in just two of their six games. That said, sharp money moved this line from 3.5 up to 6.5 in favor of Texas, which has become one of the more improved teams in college football over the past month.
The 50-7 loss at TCU was a setback, but the Longhorns responded with an inspired 24-17 win over Oklahoma in the “Red River Rivalry” and have a revitalized offense thanks to quarterback Jerrod Heard. The freshman signal-caller has rushed for 433 yards and three touchdowns, as well as thrown for 714 passing yards and three scores.
Injuries have become an issue for the Wildcats, who were drubbed by Oklahoma at home last weekend. Safety Dante Barnett is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury while fellow defenders Danzel McDaniel, Elijah Lee and Kaleb Prewett are banged up as well. Meanwhile, Texas is well rested coming off its bye.
Take the Longhorns, who are 6.5-point home favorites versus the Wildcats for tonight’s game according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI.
