College Football Week 8 Odds: Spread in Clemson vs. Miami climbs to 9.5

Clemson-Miami line rises again

The point spread in the today’s ACC clash between Clemson and Miami has climbed to nearly a double digit spread.

View Week 8 College Football Odds

After opening as a mere 5.5-point home underdog, the Hurricanes are now +9.5 according to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag. The total hasn’t budged (opening at 54.5 and staying at 54.5), so the reason for the movement isn’t injury related. With only 58% of public money on the Tigers, the public hasn’t moved the line either.

It would appear as though sharp money has pushed the line to 9.5, just as they did when the spread went from 5.5 to 7.5 earlier this week. One would think that the line won’t rise to 10 (or perhaps more wiseguys will jump on Miami as a home dog), but it might not fall back down either.

Clemson has the No. 10 defense in the nation in terms of total yards, allowing just 282.7 per contest. The Tigers are also 14th in the country in points allowed (16.7) and despite facing a talented quarterback in Brad Kaaya, clearly many bettors feel as though Clemson will cover.
