Ohio St. vs. Penn St. Prediction
Will No. 2 Ohio State be able to put up enough offense to hit the over when it takes on Penn State tonight at 8PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Ohio State is the clear favorite on the road, as the Buckeyes are getting odds of -19.5 points against the Buckeyes. The over/under total for the game is listed at 57 points. Ohio State has won four straight meetings with Penn State and the two have hit the over in three of those four meetings.
Bet on Ohio State vs. Penn State
Ohio State got a scare last week when it beat Wisconsin, 30-23 in OT, on the road. That improved Ohio State to 6-0 on the season and 3-0 in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes are 3-3 with the over/under total on the season. The Buckeyes defense is holding opponents to just 12.8 points and 280.3 yards per game. Offensively, Ohio State is putting up 49.3 points and 516.5 yards per game, including 300.5 rushing yards per contest. Currently three different Buckeyes have run for 434 yards or more, including J.T. Barrett. The starting QB has 434 rushing yards with six touchdowns to go with 1,207 passing yards and 16 scores, putting himself right in the Heisman conversation at the midway point of the year. Curtis Samuel has run for 456 yards and has 403 receiving yards to go with six total touchdowns to also lead the offense.
Penn State is coming off a 38-14 win against Maryland two weeks ago. The Nittany Lions have won two straight to get to 4-2 on the season and 2-1 in the Big Ten. They are also 5-1 with the over this season. The Nittany Lions are averaging 30.5 points and 391.5 yards per game on offense, thanks to Trace McSorley, who has thrown for 1,436 yards and eight touchdowns. Saquon Barkley has run for 582 yards and eight touchdowns. The Penn State defense isn’t all that great, as the Nittany Lions are allowing 28.5 points and 381.5 yards per contest. They have really struggled to stop the run this year, giving up 208.8 yards per game on the ground.

I think Ohio State may be able to put up 57 points on their own in this game. The Nittany Lions gave up 49 points on their own to Michigan and 42 points to Pitt. Ohio State seems to have a more explosive offense than both of those teams. While the Buckeyes could threaten to pitch a shutout, I do expect Penn State to rack up some points, giving you plenty of additional cushion to hit the over.
