Oregon vs. UCLA Prediction
Will Oregon cover as an underdog this afternoon when the Ducks visit UCLA at 4:00PM ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: UCLA. According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Bovada.lv, the Bruins are 6.5-point home favorites versus the Ducks, who also opened as 6.5-point underdogs. As for the total, the number currently sits at 68.5 points after hitting the board at 71 at the majority of online sportsbooks.
Bet Today’s Oregon vs. UCLA Matchup
Who the Public Likes: Oregon. It’s rare when public bettors back underdogs but nearly 60% of the public is taking the points with the Ducks. The Bruins are 1-5 against the spread this season, so it’s understandable that public bettors are fading UCLA.
Who the Trends Like: The Ducks are 5-1 against the spread in their last six road games versus the Bruins and have covered in four of their last five games overall versus UCLA. Oregon has also covered in 20 of its last 27 games played on grass and is 35-16-1 in its last 52 games played in October. The Bruins are 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 home games, are winless at 0-5 against the number in their last five conference games, and are 0-4 at the betting window in their last four games overall.
Who We Like: Josh Rosen is a stud but I don’t trust UCLA, especially as a favorite. This is a bad matchup for the Bruins, who rank 129th in the nation in rushing defense. They’re allowing 313 rushing yards per game and will face one of the most explosive backs in the country in Royce Freeman. The Ducks will struggle to slow Rosen but they could also force the Bruins to be one dimensional and I don’t see how UCLA will slow down Oregon’s dynamic rushing attack. I like taking the dog in potential shootouts, and I see this as a shootout.
