Wisconsin vs. Michigan State Free Pick
(The Spread) – The best matchup in the Big Ten this week can be found in East Lansing where Michigan State will host Wisconsin at 8:00PM ET.
WISCONSIN: The Badgers kept their BCS title hopes alive last week by crushing Indiana 59-7 as nearly a 40-point favorite. That ran Wisconsin’s record to 6-0 on the year and 5-0-1 against the spread. Led by running back Montee Ball (653 rushing yards, 17 touchdowns) and quarterback Russell Wilson (1,557 passing yards), the Badgers’ offense is extremely tough to stop for four quarters. Throw in a receiving threat like Nick Toon (447 receiving yards) and Wisconsin looks unbeatable.
MICHIGAN STATE: The Spartans have zero time to rest on their laurels after beating rival Michigan 28-14 last weekend. With Wisconsin coming to town and a Big Ten title on the line, Michigan State could catapult into the top 10 with a victory today. Kirk Cousins leads the team with 1,317 passing yards while Edwin Baker has rushed for a team-high 419 yards. Defensively, Isaiah Lewis has three interceptions to lead a stingy Michigan State D. With their win last week against the Wolverines, the Spartans are now 5-1 overall and 4-2 against the spread.

ODDS: Michigan State opened as a 9-point underdog but the line has dropped since then. Now Sparty is a 7-point underdog at most books, although they’re still an 8-point dog at the Las Vegas Hilton. The over/under total is currently sitting at 49 points at most sports books.
FREE PICK: Take the Badgers. Michigan State’s win last Saturday against Michigan was highly impressive but Denard Robinson has proven the last two seasons that he struggles against top defenses. What happens this week when Russell Wilson and Wisconsin’s well-balanced offense comes to town? According to latest college football trends, the Badgers are 6-0 against the number versus a team with a winning record and 8-0 ATS in their last eight conference games. On the other side, the Spartans are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games as an underdog and 2-6 ATS in their last eight contests as a home underdog. I think Wisconsin’s offense will prove too much for MSU to handle, even if the Spartans keep things close in the first-half.
