Colorado Buffaloes Game Notes
Colorado DB/WR Travis Hunter suffered a lacerated liver in his team’s 43-35 Week 3 win over Colorado State. He will miss this weekend’s game and likely a few contests after that as he recovers. Hunter had 16 catches for 213 yards as a wide receiver and 9 total tackles, 2 pass breakups, and an interception as a defensive back before getting injured.
Buffaloes starting free safety Shilo Sanders is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game with a kidney injury. Sanders sat out last week’s game with that same ailment. For the season, Shilo Sanders is tied for third on the team with 26 total tackles.
Colorado starting cornerback Kyndrich Breedlove missed the team’s last game with an undisclosed injury and he’s questionable for the Buffaloes game this weekend. Breedlove has 6 total tackles on the campaign.
Arizona State Game Notes
Arizona State starting quarterback Jaden Rashada is out until early November with a leg injury. Rashada threw for 403 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception before suffering the injury. The Sun Devils have played multiple quarterbacks (Drew Pyne, Jacob Conover, and Trenton Bourguet) since Rashada went down, but it seems they’ve settled on Bourguet as the primary starter. Bourguet started Arizona State’s game at Cal last weekend and looked pretty good, completing 26 of 41 passes for 344 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 1 interception.
One of the reasons Bourguet started last weekend was because Sun Devils QB Drew Pyne was out with a leg injury. Pyne is questionable for this weekend’s game with that same injury, leaving his status in up in the air against Colorado.

Colorado vs. Arizona State Betting Prediction
This game has all the makings of a shootout. Colorado is averaging 34.2 points per game, a mark that ranks 29th in the country. The Buffaloes’ defense is allowing 36.2 points per game, a figure that ranks 113th in the nation. Arizona State’s defense isn’t much better as the Sun Devils rank 80th in the nation with an average of 30.5 points allowed per game. The more concerning number for Arizona State is their team’s yards per point margin. The Sun Devils rank 127th in the country with a yards-per-point margin of -7.7. Only 6 FBS teams have a worse yards-per-point margin than Arizona State. When you add in the fact that the Sun Devils might be forced to start their third-string quarterback, it becomes clear that Colorado has the upper hand in this matchup. I’ll lay the points with the Buffs on the road under the lights in Tempe this weekend.
