Huskies falling apart
Connecticut has been a mess most of the season and the Huskies are coming off a 56-10 loss at home to Navy last weekend. The Huskies are now 2-7 on the season, 0-5 in the AAC, 4-5 against the spread and 5-4 with the under.
UConn is among the worst in the country in both offense and defense. The Huskies are giving up 39.8 points and 446.3 yards per game defensively, while averaging just 20.3 points and 340.7 yards per contest. Jack Zergiotis is leading the offense with 1,079 passing yards and five touchdowns, but has eight interceptions. Kevin Mensah is the team’s leading rusher with 803 yards and nine touchdowns while Cameron Ross has 46 catches for 516 yards and two scores.
Bearcats get scare on the road
The Cincinnati Bearcats won their sixth straight game last weekend, but it was a close call. They defeated ECU 46-43 on the road to improve to 7-1 on the season. Cincy is 4-0 in the AAC, 5-3 against the spread and 5-3 with the under.
Cincinnati has been respectable on defense, as the Bearcats are giving up 23.2 points and 381.4 yards per game. Offensively, Cincinnati is averaging 30.8 points and 393.6 yards per contest. Quarterback Desmond Ridder has been leading the team this year with 1,560 passing yards and 15 touchdowns, while also rushing for 323 yards and a score. Michael Warren II is the leading rusher with 639 yards and seven touchdowns while Josiah Deguara has 23 catches for 369 yards and five touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
UConn
The Huskies are 5-2 with the over in their last seven road games, but 4-1 with the over in their last five games in November.
Cincinnati
The Bearcats have hit the under in four straight road games and in 19 of their last 26 against a losing team.
Prediction:
These two have hit the under in five straight meetings, dating back to 2014. The Bearcats got a nice scare last weekend, but it was mostly a scare for the defense. They should be woken up this week at home against a really bad Connecticut offense. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the Huskies kept under 10 points. With that in mind, I don’t see Cincinnati going too high on offense itself, even against a really bad Connecticut defense. The Bearcats have only put up 40 or more twice this year. They prefer more of a ball-control style of play.
