Cook was found not guilty of misdemeanor battery after a woman had accused him of hitting her in the face back in June. As the incident was being investigated, Cook was suspended from the team while the trial took place. On Monday, a Leon County jury acquitted Cook of the crime.

“I’m just thankful and blessed the truth came out,” Cook said after the verdict. “I knew what I was doing that night, and I was making peace.”

After the verdict was announced, Florida State released a statement announcing it had reinstated Cook and that he was eligible to practice with the team right away.

According to the latest oddsmakers, Florida State is listed with 25/1 odds to win the national championship this upcoming season. The Seminoles open the season on Sept. 5 and are currently listed as a 30-point favorite at home against Texas State. The over/under total for that game has been set at 58 points.

His best games came at the end of the year, as he rushed for over 100 yards in the final three games of the year against Florida, Georgia Tech and Oregon. Cook was among the listed Heisman contenders prior to his suspension.
