Eastern Michigan Eagles Game Notes
Eastern Michigan senior QB Ben Bryant completed 20-of-26 passes for 286 yards and two touchdowns in a 55-24 victory over Bowling Green on Saturday. With his second-consecutive game posting a completion percentage above 70 percent, Bryant (6’3/218) has really taken command of this Eagles offense. Bryant took control of this game early with both a passing and rushing touchdown in the second quarter and started the second half off with a 37-yard touchdown pass to Gunnar Oakes. After battling for the starting job early in the season with Preston Hutchinson, Bryant has eliminated any controversy with his play over the last five games. He will lead the 5-3 Eagles against Toledo on Tuesday, November 2nd.
Toledo Rockets Game Notes
Toledo redshirt freshman QB Dequan Finn completed 8-of-24 passes for two touchdowns, no interceptions and ran 12 times for 27 yards in Toledo’s 34-15 win over WMU. Finn (6’2″/207″) may have only completed eight passes, but his two touchdown passes were beauties. Both were long arcing passes right into the path of receivers who were well-covered, but the ball was placed perfectly. Bryce Mitchell made a fantastic one-handed grab on his in the second quarter, and the second gave Toledo the lead for good, and was perfectly dropped right in Danzel McKinley-Lewis’ outstretched hands. Finn also did decent damage with his legs. If the sacks are taken out, he ran nine times for 52 yards, and had a number of clutch scrambles to keep drives moving and the clock ticking. Finn will hope to continue playing well after his bye next week.
