Two top-25 teams meet in a key non-conference game this week as No. 23 Tennessee hosts No. 19 Oklahoma at 6PM ET on ESPN.
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, this game is considered even as Oklahoma and Tennessee are both being given no points to each other. The over/under total is currently listed at 62.5 points. These two met last season in Oklahoma with the Sooners picking up a 34-10 win at home and covering a 21-point spread. The two went under the total of 58 points.
Oklahoma started the season with a 41-3 win over Akron at home, covering a 31-point spread while going under the 57-point total. The Sooners finished with a 539-226-yard edge in total yards and held Akron to 88 passing yards. Baker Mayfield threw for 388 yards and three touchdowns in the win while Samaje Perine was held to just 33 rushing yards on 11 carries. Joe Mixon caught three passes for 115 yards and one touchdown.
Tennessee opened the year with a 59-30 win over Bowling Green in a shootout. The Vols were 21.5-point favorites coming in and the two easily went over the 67.5-point total. Tennessee hasn’t been a real offensive power in previous seasons, but the Vols unloaded for 604 yards of offense in the opener. However, they also allowed 557 yards to Bowling Green, including 433 passing yards. Tennessee dominated on the ground with 399 rushing yards as Alvin Kamara had 144 yards and two scores while Jalen Hurd had 123 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Joshua Dobbs also rushed for 89 yards and a score while throwing for 205 yards with two touchdowns.
