Thursday Night Football Odds
It is pretty rare that the No. 1 ranked team in the nation plays on a Thursday during the regular season but that is the case when No. 1 Oregon hosts UCLA at 9PM ET.
The Ducks are 6-0 on the season and 3-0 in the Pac-10 while UCLA is 3-3 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. The Ducks have won seven of the last nine against the Bruins.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook BroburySports.com have made Oregon a 24-point favorite against the Bruins on Thursday night. The over/under has been set at 61.5.
The opening odds had Oregon favored by 21.5-points against UCLA, but those odds have slowly increased throughout the week, now settling in at -24. The over/under opened at 61 before adding the hook to get to 61.5.
Oregon has been one of the most productive offenses in the nation this season as the Ducks have scored no less than 42 points in any game. They average 567 yards of total offense per game and 314.8 rushing yards per game. Darron Thomas has thrown for 1,231 yards and 14 touchdowns while rushing for 221 yards and two scores. LaMichael James has emerged as a Heisman contender as he has 848 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. The Ducks’ defense has been steady, averaging just 338.5 yards allowed per game.
UCLA is 3-3 on the season after losing 35-7 to California last weekend to end a three-game winning streak. The Bruins have struggled on offense, averaging just 318.5 yards per game including just 95.5 passing yards per contest. Johnathan Franklin has rushed for 679 yards and five touchdowns while Kevin Prince has just 384 yards passing with three touchdowns and five interceptions. On defense, the Bruins are giving up 182.3 rushing yards per game.
The trends actually favor UCLA in this game as the underdog is 6-2 against the spread in the last eight games of this series, as is the road team. Oregon is also just 1-4 ATS in their last five conference games.
Kevin Prince is questionable for UCLA with a knee injury while receiver Nelson Rosario is doubtful with an ankle injury. For Oregon, quarterback Darron Thomas is considered questionable with a shoulder injury, but is expected to play.
Over 15,500 bets have been made on this game with Oregon getting 72% of the wagers at -24 against UCLA.
