Memphis vs. Houston Odds
No. 16 Houston looks to stay unbeaten on the year when it hosts No. 25 Memphis on Saturday at 7PM ET on ESPN2.
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie, Houston is favored at home, as the Cougars are getting odds of -7 points against the Tigers. The over/under total for the game has been set at 71 points. Houston has won five straight over Memphis and covered the spread in four straight against the Tigers. These two have hit the under in four of their last six encounters.
Houston is 9-0 on the season, 5-0 in the AAC, 6-3 against the spread and 4-4-1 with the over/under total. Houston is coming off a 33-30 win over Cincinnati last week. It was just the second time that the Cougars have won by single digits this year. Houston is eighth in the nation in scoring (44.4 ppg) and 10th in total offense (525.8 ypg). The defense is giving up 18.7 points and 367.6 yards per game. Greg Ward Jr. has thrown for 2,115 yards and 13 touchdowns this year while rushing for 835 yards and 16 scores. Kenneth Farrow has added 857 rushing yards with 10 touchdowns. Demarcus Ayers is the leading receiver with 768 yards on 60 catches with five touchdowns.
Memphis is 8-1 on the year, 4-1 in the AAC, 4-4-1 against the spread and 6-3 with the over. The Tigers were beaten by Navy last week, 45-20, to put an end to their perfect season. Memphis still ranks sixth nationally in scoring (44.8 ppg) and seventh in total offense (546.7 ypg). The defense is allowing just 28.7 points and 437.2 yards per contest. Paxton Lynch has thrown for 3,014 yards and 19 touchdowns to lead the offense this season while Mose Frazier has caught 52 passes for 626 yards and three scores. The leading rusher is Doroland Dorceus, who has 449 yards and seven scores.
