Miami lost 32-24 to Maryland in the season opener on Labor Day. The Hurricanes had some key players sitting out due to a suspension, but still made things interesting. Miami had 367 yards of offense with 172 rushing yards. Lamar Miller had 18 carries for 119 yards and one touchdown in the loss to lead Miami. Maryland amassed 499 yards of offense against the Hurricanes.
Ohio State defeated Akron 42-0 in the season opener but got a scare last week in a 27-22 win over Toledo at home. The Rockets had a chance to win the game in the closing minutes, but the Buckeyes made a defensive stop. Ohio State was out-gained 338-301 in the win, but the Buckeyes held Toledo to just 46 rushing yards on the day. Running back Carlos Hyde led the Ohio State offense with 76 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
In terms of Injuries, Ohio State is pretty healthy, but might be getting some suspended players back this week. Running back Dan Herron and receiver DeVier Posey are still sitting out. Miami will get back quarterback Jacory Harris and linebacker Sean Spence will be back from a suspension as well.
