Ezekiel Elliott says he’s turning pro, Michigan favored vs. Ohio State

Elliott vents, OSU an underdog at UM

While it may have just been frustration that boiled over following Ohio State’s loss to Michigan State on Saturday, star running back Ezekiel Elliott says he’s turning pro.

“Honestly, this is my last game in the Shoe,” Elliott said following the loss to the Spartans. “I mean, there’s no chance of me coming back next year. What happened today, it was kind of like a bad, bad dream. Offense had a rough day, and I’m disappointed. I’m disappointed in the play calling, I’m disappointed in the situations we were put in, and I wish it all played out differently.”

Ohio State lost to Michigan State 17-14 as a 14.5-point home favorite on Saturday. Elliott expressed frustration that the Buckeye coaching staff didn’t call more running plays during the loss. He finished with just 33 rushing yards and a touchdown on 12 carries in the defeat.

The Buckeyes now must turn their attention to Saturday, where Michigan looms at the Big House in Ann Arbor. According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Michigan is a 1.5-point home favorite over Ohio State after opening as a 2.5-point dog. Even in an intense rivalry game, bettors will have to determine the Buckeyes’ motivation after they presumably knocked themselves out of playoff contention last week.
