FSU mulls move to Big 12
(AP) – The president of Florida State University says moving the athletic program from the Atlantic Coast Conference to the Big 12 has several drawbacks to be considered.
President Eric Barron sent a memo to those who have asked him about the possibility of the Seminoles switching conferences. The memo was obtained by The Associated Press.

It lays out both possible pros and cons for a move, but makes a strong case for staying in the ACC, where the Seminoles have competed since 1992.
Barron writes the Big 12 is “at least as Texas centered than the ACC is North Carolina centered.” He also writes the possible financial gains under the Big 12 TV contract might not be enough to make up for the cost of competing in that league.
