Florida State Seminoles Game Notes
Florida State wide receiver Johnny Wilson was removed from last week’s game against Southern Mississippi with an unspecified injury, and he’s officially listed as questionable for Saturday’s tilt with Boston College. Wilson is listed as the starting X-receiver for Florida State’s offense, and he’s second on the team in catches (7) and receiving yards (104) this season.
The Seminoles’ backup X-receiver is also on the injury report this week. Kentron Poitier has missed his team’s last two games with an undisclosed injury, and he’s officially questionable for Saturday’s game at Boston College. Poitier had 14 catches for 283 yards and 4 touchdowns for the Noles last season.
Boston College Eagles Game Notes
Boston College’s top two running backs are both listed as questionable for Saturday’s home date with Florida State. Eagles starting running back Pat Garwo III is dealing with a leg injury and second-string RB Alex Broome missed last week’s game with an unspecified injury. Garwo has 12 carries for 57 yards this season while Broome has toted the ball 5 times for 23 yards. If one or both running backs are limited or unable to play, the beneficiary will likely be sophomore running back Cam’ron Barfield. Barfield had 25 carries for 53 yards as a freshman last season. Boston College will likely need to at least attempt to run the ball to slow down Florida State’s ferocious pass rush and to keep the Seminoles’ high-powered offense off the field.

Florida State vs. Boston College Betting Prediction
The total on this game seems low to me. It’s set at 48 points. Florida State is second in the country in scoring this season at 55.5 points per game. The Seminoles put up 45 against LSU in Week 1 and lit up Southern Miss to the tune of 66 points in Week 2. Florida State could cash the over by themselves this weekend, and the spread of 26.5 points indicates that Vegas thinks the Noles won’t have trouble scoring. Boston College might struggle to score, as they could be down their top two running backs, but they may have the advantage of this being a trap game for the Seminoles. Florida State plays at Clemson next weekend in what could be a monster game in the ACC. Because of that, I think the Florida State’s defense won’t be as crisp as it was last week when they only allowed 13 points to Southern Miss. Instead of taking a side, I’ll take the over of 48 points between Florida State and Boston College in Chestnut Hill on Saturday.
