According to oddsmakers at GTBets, Florida State is currently listed with 20/1 odds to win the College Football Playoffs this upcoming season. The Seminoles are getting odds of +240 to win the ACC Championship this year, while their over/under total for wins has been set at 9.5.

Jimbo Fisher is entering his sixth season as head coach of the Seminoles. Florida State has won the ACC title the last three years and won the national title in 2013 season before losing in the playoff semifinals last year. Florida State was 13-1 on the year in 2014 and 8-0 in the ACC. The lone loss came against Oregon in the Rose Bowl.

Florida State continued to be a pretty strong offensive team in 2014, averaging 33.7 points and 441.4 yards per game while the defense gave up 25.6 points per contest. FSU loses Jameis Winston at quarterback after he threw for 3,907 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2014. Replacing him will be either Sean Maguire, last year’s backup, or Notre Dame transfer Everett Golson, who is eligible to play right away. FSU was hoping to have a strong running back this year in Dalvin Cook, but he is currently unavailable while facing misdemeanor charges of assault. FSU also lost stud receiver Rashad Greene, who had 1,365 receiving yards in 2014. FSU may have to rely heavily on the defense early while the new offensive stars emerge.

Florida State has non-conference home games with Texas State, South Florida and Chattanooga this year and it also makes the trip to Florida to close the season. ACC home games include Miami, Louisville, Syracuse and N.C. State. Conference road games will be at Boston College, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech and Clemson. Trips to Tech and Clemson could be tough for this team, which has a lot of question marks entering the season. Clemson could be primed to unseat the Seminoles in the ACC this year.
