Florida Gators Game Notes

Florida redshirt junior WR Jordan Pouncey was granted an eligibility waiver allowing him to play for the remainder of the year. Pouncey (6’2/205) is a former three-star Texas recruit who transferred as a graduate and can now join the Gators lineup. The ex-Longhorn had a hard time cracking UT’s wide receiver lineup as he caught only two passes for 19 yards during his tenure at the school. Florida takes on 21st-ranked Texas A&M in College Station on Saturday.

Texas A&M Aggies Game Notes

Texas A&M senior QB Kellen Mond completed 25-of-44 passes for 318 yards and three touchdowns with an interception in a 52-24 loss to Alabama on Saturday. These numbers are not bad, but feel a bit misleading. His touchdown passes were on blown coverages, with one of them being an inexcusable error by an Alabama defender who stopped running after he thought he pushed Ainias Smith out of bounds. He found Smith again for his second score, but also threw a pick six in the second quarter that pretty much eliminated Texas A&M from being competitive. Mond is certainly talented, but there are just too many games like this in his college career. He’ll try and rebound next week, but it won’t be easy in a contest with Florida.

Florida vs. Texas A&M Betting Prediction

The Aggies are now winless against the spread in their last four games dating back to last season and are 2-5 against the number in their last seven home games. A&M has also dropped 21 of its last 30 games at the betting window in October games and is 8-21 ATS in its last 29 games coming off a loss. The Gators, meanwhile, have covered the spread in all five of their last five games following an ATS loss, are 4-1 against the number in their last five road games and are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as a favorite.
