Will Indiana cover as an underdog in South Bend against Notre Dame in the first game of the college football playoffs? Will the Heat take down the Thunder as a small home underdog? Read on for our Friday Cross-Sport Parlay.
Thursday Cross-Sport Parlay Recap
My cross-sport parlay on Thursday consisted of Georgia Southern (-3.5), the Nets (+3.5), the Penguins (+126) and the Broncos (+126). The Eagles loss outright to Sam Houston State in last night’s bowl game and the Broncos had a horrible fourth quarter in a loss to the Chargers. Those two losses spoiled outright upsets by the Penguins and Nets.
NHL Friday Cross-Sport Parlay: Carolina Hurricanes -146, 7:08 p.m. ET
The Hurricanes have won eight out of their last nine games versus the Capitals, which includes their 4-2 victory in early November. The ‘Canes have also won three out of their last four games entering play tonight, beating the Islanders 4-0 in their last contest. On the other side, the Capitals have dropped back-to-back games, including an ugly 3-2 loss to the lowly Blackhawks on Tuesday.
NBA Friday Cross-Sport Parlay: Miami Heat +1 (-112), 8:10 p.m. ET
The Heat have won seven of the last 10 meetings between these two teams. They’ve also won four out of their last five games entering play tonight. As for the Thunder, they’re playing their third game in four nights on Friday, all in different cities. They’ve had three days off since losing 125-124 in overtime to the Pistons on Monday. The Thunder then played the Bucks in the NBA Cup in Las Vegas on Tuesday and went to Orlando on Thursday. While these athletes aren’t traveling coach on commercial flights, this OKC team must be exhausted. I’ll take my shot with Miami.
CFB Friday Cross-Sport Parlay: Indiana Hoosiers +6.5 (-105), 8:00 p.m. ET
The Hoosiers will put up a fight tonight in South Bend. First and foremost, they play with great tempo. The passing attack is incredibly efficient, as the offense is second behind only Miami in scoring. Only Oregon was better in the Big Ten on third downs. Rourke gets the ball out of his hands in a hurry, which helps neutralizes opponents’ pass rush. Did that happen against Ohio State? No, but I feel like Indiana will be better equipped to handle Notre Dame’s pass rush thanks to that loss to the Buckeyes.
I’m half-tempted to take the Hoosiers in the first half because I do believe the Notre Dame rushing attack will eventually hum. That said, I’d rather have the points in my back pocket in case a backdoor cover is in play. Either way, I see IU putting up a fight tonight.
CBB Friday Cross-Sport Parlay: Providence Friars +6.5 (-110), 8:00 p.m. ET
The Friars have fared well against the Red Storm in previous meetings. In the last six meetings between these rivals, Providence won four games outright and covered in four of those matchups as well. The Friars are also 3-0 against the Red Storm in the last three meetings at Amica Mutual Pavilion as well.
4-Leg Parlay Odds: +1109 (Fanduel Sportsbook)
