The move was announced on Wednesday night with Wisconsin coming off a Big Ten West Division title and appearance in the Big Ten Championship Game. The Badgers were 19-7 in two seasons under Andersen, who took over for Brett Bielema, who left Wisconsin for Arkansas. Prior to his time at Wisconsin, Andersen coached Utah State to a 26-22 record over four seasons.

Wisconsin is currently preparing to face Auburn in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1. Currently, oddsmakers from Bovada.lv have Auburn as a 6.5-point favorite in the bowl game with Wisconsin.

Oregon State had an opening for its position when 14-year coach Mike Riley left the school to take over at Nebraska last week.
