Florida Gators
Florida redshirt sophomore QB Feleipe’ Franks completed 19-of-29 passes for 284 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 37-27 victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday. Franks played better in this one after an average outing against LSU the week prior. He still received plenty of help from the ground game though as the Gators rushed for 292 yards in this one. Franks didn’t do much of anything in the first half and they actually fell behind 21-3 at one point. The second half was a whole different story as Franks connected on touchdowns from 38 and 11 yards out. They will face their toughest test of the season at home against No. 2 Georgia.
Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia sophomore QB Jake Fromm went 16-of-34 for 209 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in a 36-16 loss to LSU on Saturday. Fromm couldn’t buy a completion early as LSU jumped out to a 16-0 lead at halftime. He may have been marginally better in the second half, but that’s about all the positivity we can muster. Georgia fans must be wondering why Justin Fields didn’t attempt even one pass. We’re definitely headed for an interesting week of quarterback controversy in Athens. Georgia has a week to lick its wounds before it hosts Florida.

Prediction
Both teams have similar strengths and problems. Defensively, both are stout but the run defense has been a fairly big problem for Georgia and a decent problem for Florida. On the other side of the ball, both teams need to run the ball to have success and while Georgia isn’t overly explosive through the air, Florida unquestionably struggles generating big plays. What does it all mean? I see two teams that are very similar and considering this rivalry could go either way, I love taking the points with the dog here.
