Gators get by Gamecocks
The Florida Gators are coming off a 38-27 road win over South Carolina two weeks ago, bouncing back from their loss to LSU prior to that. Florida is now 7-1 on the season, 4-1 in the SEC, 5-3 against the spread and 5-3 with the under.
Florida has been a stout defense this season, allowing just 15.8 points and 323.4 yards per game. On offense, the Gators are putting up 32.5 points and 420 yards per outing. Kyle Trask has played well since Feleipe Franks went down with an injury. He has thrown for 1,391 yards and 14 touchdowns this year. Lamical Perine has rushed for 460 yards and four touchdowns to lead the ground attack while Kyle Pitts is the leading receiver with 35 catches for 391 yards and four touchdowns.
Georgia shuts out Kentucky
Georgia is coming off a 21-0 win over Kentucky two weeks ago and then had a bye last weekend. The Bulldogs come into this game at 6-1 on the season, 3-1 in the SEC, 3-4 against the spread and 5-2 with the under.
The Bulldogs have been a great defensive team all year, allowing 10.6 points and 267.1 yards per game. Offensively, Georgia has been pretty solid as well. The Bulldogs are putting up 36 points and 472.9 yards per contest. D’Andre Swift is leading the team with 752 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while Jake Fromm has thrown for 1,406 yards and nine touchdowns. George Pickens is the leading receiver with 23 catches for 318 yards and two scores.
College Football Betting Trends
Florida
The Gators have covered the spread in four straight conference games, but just 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 games in November.
Georgia
The Bulldogs 7-1 against the spread in their last eight games on a neutral site and 6-2 ATS in their last eight conference games.
Prediction:
Georgia has won and covered the spread in two straight meetings with Florida, winning both by at least 19 points. The Bulldogs haven’t been really pulling away from opponents this year, but still find ways to win comfortably. The teams have comparable defenses, but I think Georgia’s is a hair better. The difference is, Georgia has an offense that seems more skilled and capable to sustain production against a good defense. Florida was able to find ways to score against Auburn, but the Tigers don’t have the offense Georgia does. The Gators gave up 42 to LSU. While Georgia isn’t LSU, I think its closer to LSU than it is to Auburn. I expect the Bulldogs to make a few bigger plays on offense to win this game by at least two scores.
