LSU looks to go 13-0
LSU kept its unbeaten season going last weekend with a 50-7 win over Texas A&M at home. The Tigers have thrown a perfect 12-0 record during the season, including an 8-0 mark in the SEC. LSU is 7-5 against the spread this year and 8-4 with the over.
The Tigers have been led all year by their offense, which is one of the best in the nation. LSU is putting up 48.7 points and 560.4 yards per game. Defensively, the Tigers aren’t too shabby either. They are giving up just 22.1 points and 345.9 yards per contest. Joe Burrow could be the 2019 Heisman winner. He has thrown for 4,366 yards and 44 touchdowns this season. He also has rushed for 248 yards and three scores. Ja’Marr Chase is his top receiver with 70 catches for 1,457 yards and 17 touchdowns. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is the leading rusher with 1,233 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Georgia hammers Georgia Tech
Georgia had no trouble with its rival, Georgia Tech, last weekend, earning a 52-7 road victory for a sixth consecutive win. The Bulldogs are now 11-1 on the season, 7-1 in the SEC, 7-5 against the spread and 9-3 with the under.
The Bulldogs have been one of the top defenses in the nation this year, allowing just 10.4 points and 257 yards per game, including only 186 passing yards per game. The Georgia offense is putting up 32.9 points and 420.6 yards per game, including 200 rushing yards per contest. Jake Fromm has thrown for 2,385 yards and 21 touchdowns this season to lead the offense, while D’Andre Swift has 1,203 rushing yards and seven scores. George Pickens is the team’s leading receiver with 33 catches for 498 yards and six touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
LSU
The Tigers are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight against a winning team and 15-7 ATS in their last 22 SEC games.
Georgia
The Bulldogs are 8-1 against the spread in their last nine neutral site games and 5-0 ATS in their last five games as an underdog.
Prediction:
LSU has won three of the last four against Georgia, going 3-0-1 against the spread in the process. Georgia certainly has a great defense, but the Bulldogs haven’t really faced an elite class of offensive teams. They will truly be tested today by the Tigers and I don’t think Georgia is going to be able to contain them as well as they would like. Georgia also doesn’t have the offense to go toe-to-toe with LSU either. If the Bulldogs can’t get consistent stops, they aren’t going to be able to hang. I don’t see Georgia being able to get consistent stops on the fast indoor turf of Atlanta. I like LSU to cover and march on into the playoffs.
