THE PUBLIC LIKES: Georgia. The Bulldogs have been steamrolling opponents all season and have become a huge public favorite. As of this writing, nearly 80% of the tickets for this game are on Georgia minus the 13.5 points. The Bulldogs are a perfect 7-0 on the year and 5-2 at the betting window, while the Gators are 3-3 straight up and 2-4 against the spread.
HISTORICAL TRENDS LIKE: The Gators and the under. Florida is a perfect 4-0 against the spread in its last four games versus Georgia while the under has cashed in five of the last six meetings between these two teams.
WHO WE LIKE: Georgia. The Gators have lost their last two games by a combined three points but they’re about to get their doors blown off today. Georgia has the edge on offense, defense and special teams and freshman quarterback Jake Fromm continues to improve as the offense is opening up a little. The Dawgs average 283 yards per game on the ground and even if the Gators hold early, the dam will eventually break because they won’t be able to sustain drives offensively. Florida is just 1-5 against the spread as a dog and Georgia is 4-1 against the spread as a favorite. The Bulldogs have been bullied by the Gators the last three years but that trend ends this season, as this is the best team Georgia has had in the past five-plus years. Don’t expect the Dawgs to let up in this big rivalry. Not with how the Gators have thrashed them in recent years.
