According to oddsmakers at GTBets, Georgia is currently listed with 25/1 odds to win the College Football Playoffs this upcoming season. The Bulldogs are getting odds of +550 to win the SEC Championship this year, while their over/under total for wins has been set at 9.

Richt is coming into his 15th season as head coach of the Bulldogs. He is 136-48 in his career and 78-34 in the SEC. Richt last won an SEC title in the 2005 season, so the pressure is starting to build for him to get Georgia back to being a title contender. Last season, Georgia went 10-3 overall and 6-2 in the SEC, but that was just Georgia’s third double-digit win season in six years.

Georgia had one of the top offenses in the country last year, as it ranked eighth nationally in scoring at 41.3 points per game. The defense wasn’t far off either, ranking 16th nationally by allowing just 20.7 points per contest. Still, Georgia managed to lose some head scratchers in 2014, including a 38-20 loss to Florida. Georgia loses stud RB Todd Gurley, but he was hurt a lot in 2014, which allowed Nick Chubb to emerge. Chubb rushed for 1,547 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2014. He is among the top Heisman candidates for 2015. The team will have to replace Hutson Mason at quarterback. He was very efficient, throwing just four interceptions. Brice Ramsey could be the starter. He has the most experience of the candidates, throwing for 333 yards and three touchdowns in 2014.

The Georgia non-conference schedule isn’t too tough, as it faces UL-Monroe, Southern and Georgia Southern. It does face Georgia Tech to end the season, which will be a challenge. SEC home games include South Carolina, Alabama, Missouri and Kentucky. Road trips are made to Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Auburn. The Bulldogs also face Florida in the annual neutral-site game. Georgia gets a crack at Alabama at home. A win there could certainly make the Bulldogs a title contender. A loss in that game could make for another mediocre season.
