Indiana Hoosiers Game Notes
Indiana redshirt sophomore QB Michael Penix Jr. completed 25-of-38 passes for 320 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in a 24-0 victory over Michigan State on Saturday. Penix Jr. (6’3/202) had another rock-solid outing for the undefeated upstart Hoosiers, averaging 8.4 yards per pass attempt and converting eight-of-eighteen third down opportunities. For the second straight week, Indiana suffocated their opponent by controlling the clock for 39:14, with Michigan State only gaining 191 yards of total offense. His best throw came on a crisp 25-yard out to Ty Fryfogle that he turned upfield past a trailing defender for a 65-yard touchdown. Indiana faces their stiffest test of the year against Ohio State next Saturday.
Ohio State Buckeyes Game Notes
Ohio State redshirt sophomore RB Master Teague III carried the ball 12 times for 60 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 49-27 win over Rutgers. Teague (5’11/225) was the only Buckeyes to run in a touchdown aside from QB Justin Fields. Aside from the score, though, Teague and co-starter Trey Sermon had almost the same day. They both took 12 carries, while Sermon only outgained Teague by eight yards. Through the air, however, Teague did separate himself, earning three receptions for a solid 37 yards compared to just a lone catch out of Sermon. This was Teague’s first game of the year with any receptions, though, so it is tough to tell whether we can expect more of this from him.
