Indiana Hoosiers Game Notes

Indiana redshirt sophomore QB Michael Penix Jr. threw for 373 yards on 35-of-53 passing against Western Kentucky on Saturday. Penix Jr. amazingly didn’t throw for any touchdowns despite that high-yardage total, but he did get one on the ground with Stephen Carr finishing off two drives for the Hoosiers with rushing scores. There were some fits of inaccuracy, but overall a very solid game for the 6-foot-3, 218-pound quarterback against a Western Kentucky team that could cause some damage in the C-USA. Penix Jr. and Indiana improve to 3-2, but have another tough game next Saturday against Penn State.

Penn State Nittany Lions Game Notes:

Penn State redshirt senior QB Sean Clifford made the cut in the narrowed-down Golden Arm Award watch list. Clifford (6’2/219) is among the 25 quarterbacks still in contention for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List, presented to the best upperclassman quarterback in all of college football. Clifford has completed 71.7% of his passes for 1,158 yards with eight touchdowns and two interceptions this year. Clifford had a bit of a down year last season, but appears to be back on his way up.
