Iowa Hawkeyes Game Notes
Spencer Petras (shoulder) won’t play in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 31, Kennington Lloyd Smith of the Des Moines Register reports. Petras sustained an injury during the Hawkeyes’ game against Nebraska in late November and will require surgery to address the issue. Alex Padilla entered the game in his place but has since entered the transfer portal, so it seems likely that Joe Labas will start under center during Iowa’s bowl game.
Kentucky Wildcats Game Notes
JuTahn McClain (undisclosed) rushed 10 times for 50 yards during the Wildcats’ Week 13 win over Louisville. McClain, who has missed three games this season for undisclosed reasons, was effective during Kentucky’s win over the Cardinals. The junior running back, who has rushed for 238 yards (49 carries), while hauling in 15 receptions for 93 yards and one score, will look to prepare for Saturday’s bowl game against Iowa.
