Is the total too low for UCLA vs. Stanford? College Football Picks 9/21/17

UCLA vs. Stanford Total Pick

Will UCLA and Stanford put up enough points to hit the over when the two meet in a Pac-12 Conference game on Saturday at 10:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Stanford is favored at home, as the Cardinal are getting odds of -7.5 points against the Bruins. The over/under total for the game has been set at 57.5 points. Stanford has won nine straight in this series and the two have hit the under in three of their last four meetings. Saturday’s game takes place from Stanford Stadium in Stanford, California. It will air live on ESPN.

Stanford is off to a surprising 1-2 start, losing to USC and San Diego State over the last two weeks. The Cardinal are 2-1 with the over, but they have yet to play at home this season. Stanford is holding opponents to just 23 points per game despite allowing 405.7 yards per contest. However, the defense is holding opponents to under 200 passing yards per game. On offense, Stanford averages 34.3 points and 417.3 yards per game. The offense is being led by Bryce Love, who has run for 524 yards and four touchdowns. Keller Chryst has thrown for just 497 yards and four touchdowns.

UCLA is 2-1 this season following a 48-45 loss at Memphis last week. The Bruins have hit the over in all three games thanks to an offense that is averaging 48.7 points per game and a defense that is allowing 38.3 per contest. The defense has really struggled, giving up an average of 515.3 yards per game, including 275 rushing yards per contest. Offensively, UCLA has a great passing attack behind Josh Rosen, who has thrown for 1,283 yards and 13 touchdowns with just two interceptions. Darren Andrews is the leading receiver with 26 catches for 409 yards and six touchdowns.

Bet on UCLA vs. Stanford

The under has been the play when these two meet, as it has hit in 11 of its last 16 meetings. That is usually because of Stanford’s defense. However, the Stanford defense isn’t looking all that impressive and now faces another good quarterback. The Cardinal gave up 42 points to USC and I could see a similar showing against this UCLA passing attack. Stanford should also see a boost in offense against this poor Bruins’ defense. Look for scores on most possessions as the two fly past the total.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREDICTION: UCLA/STANFORD OVER 57.5
