Kansas State Wildcats Game Notes
Kansas State redshirt senior TE Briley Moore (back) is expected to play this Saturday at Iowa State. Moore (6’4/250) continues to trend in the right direction as he works his way back from an injury suffered during the Wildcats’ October 31 loss at West Virginia. The redshirt senior was held out of Kansas State’s home game against Oklahoma State the following week, but has been given a vote of confidence from OC Courtney Messingham. With backup Sammy Wheeler having suffered a season-ending injury in the Oklahoma State loss, Kansas State is already down one tight end heading into Saturday’s game.
Iowa State Cyclones Game Notes
Iowa State junior QB Brock Purdy threw for 164 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions on 15-of-24 passing attempts in a 38-31 win over Baylor on Saturday. Purdy and the Iowa State passing game was atrocious in the first half, as all three interceptions came in the first 30 minutes and the Cyclones trailed 21-10 at the half. The 6-foot-1, 212-pound quarterback was much better over the final two quarters, and he along with Breece Hall — who caught one of the touchdowns from Purdy — did enough to pull off the comeback. Purdy had a lot of hype coming into the 2020 season, but he hasn’t played like a pro prospect for much of this truncated campaign. Iowa State still improves to 5-2, and they get a bye before taking on Kansas State on November 21.
