Kentucky Wildcats Game Notes
Kentucky senior QB Terry Wilson completed 13-of-15 passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-35 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday. Usually in Kentucky wins, Wilson is able to sit back, not do much, especially through the air, and let his defense and running back friends do their thing. Today, he flipped the script, throwing for a pair of scores and running for another before the game was even 20 minutes old. That helped stake the Wildcats to a 21-7 lead. From there, Wilson and Kentucky’s offense reverted to its vanilla ground-and-pound machinations. Kentucky never trailed, but Vandy gave the guise of a close game with two touchdowns in the final 193 seconds of the game. Kentucky travels to Alabama, which got an unexpected by when its game against LSU was postponed, next week.
Alabama Crimson Tide Game Notes
Alabama redshirt sophomore QB Mac Jones completed 24-of-31 passes for 291 yards with four touchdowns in a 41-0 blowout of Mississippi State on Saturday. Jones didn’t throw for a touchdown pass the previous week despite having 387 yards against Tennessee. This week he has the lower passing yardage total, but he’ll probably trade that for the four scores. All four scoring passes were to DeVonta Smith, who was just on a different level than the Mississippi State defenders on a night he could have put up all-time numbers if Alabama didn’t take the foot off the gas. He’s now thrown for 16 touchdowns on the season, and his completion percentage remains over 78 percent. Impressive.
Kentucky vs. Alabama Betting Prediction
The over is 5-2 in the Crimson Tide’s last seven conference games, is 16-5 in their last 21 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game and is 7-3-1 in their last 11 games coming off an ATS win. The over is also 11-2-1 in Alabama’s last 14 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in its previous game and 4-0 in its last four games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in its previous contest. On the other side, the over is 18-6 in the Wildcats’ last 24 games played in the month of November.
