Kentucky Wildcats Game Notes
Kentucky HC Mark Stoops indicated the team is without 18 players and 10 staff members due to a rise in COVID-19 positive tests. Kentucky is schedule to play SEC East rival Florida on Saturday, but this news puts the contest very much in doubt. The coach wasn’t specific regarding the distribution of how many players and staff have tested positive for COVID, and how many are in contact tracing protocol. Regardless, it’s hard to imagine this game will still be able to be played on schedule given these numbers. The Wildcats had remained relatively unscathed in regards to postponements and cancellations, but their luck may be coming to an end.
Florida Gators Game Notes
Florida redshirt senior QB Kyle Trask completed 26-of-35 passes for 383 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-17 victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday. Trask (6’5/239) took a little while to get going until he orchestrated a seven play, 85-yard scoring drive at the end of the first half that was capped off by a leaping 34-yard touchdown reception by Trevon Grimes. Though Florida only led 17-10 heading into the third quarter, the redshirt senior methodically marched the Gators down the field in successive touchdown drives of 12 and 10 plays to give his team a 31-17 lead that they would not relinquish. His 31 touchdowns to only three interceptions illustrate how ruthlessly efficient he has performed thus far for the SEC East leading Gators. Trask will try to lead Florida to iheir eighth-straight game with at least 38 points scored next Saturday against Kentucky.
