Hank Bachmeier (shoulder) is available as a backup for Louisiana Tech’s game Thursday against Western Kentucky, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports. Bachmeier will be available for Louisiana Tech’s first game of October. However, the Bulldogs will have Jack Turner be their starting quarterback Thursday. Bachmeier logged 36 completions for 423 yards and four touchdowns across his three games during September.

Nicholas Vattiato went 26-for-41 for 408 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions on Wednesday against JSU. He also lost a fumble. That’s a lot of yards, and two touchdowns is solid, but in his first full season as a starter Vattiato has proven turnover prone. He now has six interceptions against his nine passing touchdowns, and he’s last two fumbles as well.
