Kaidon Salter’s dual threat ability gave MTSU all sorts of trouble last week, as he passed for 140 yards, and dashed for 160 more. The sophomore QB also tossed multiple scores for the sixth time this season, and he’s really blossomed since taking over the role late in 2022. Salter has thrown for 1,493 yards, with 16 touchdowns to three interceptions, and he’s rushed for 497 yards and six scores thru seven starts.
Western Kentucky Hilltoppers Game Notes
Austin Reed struggled a bit in the road loss to Jacksonville State, only going 24/48 for 250 yards, with two touchdowns and a pick. The veteran quarterback hasn’t been able to replicate his 2022 success through the air this season, and he’ll have to turn back the clock if he wants to lead WKU to a statement win here. Reed has passed for 1,915 yards, with 16 touchdowns to four interceptions through seven games.
