Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Game Notes

Louisiana Tech senior QB Luke Anthony completed 17-of-30 passes for 314 yards, five touchdowns, and an interception while rushing five times for 11 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 66-38 win over Houston-Baptist. With two first names like that, you’d think Luke Anthony played for the Bulldogs in Georgia, not Louisiana. The way Anthony (6’1/205) was ripping it down the field sure didn’t look like a Georgia QB, though. Anthony put a ball in the end zone one out of every six passes as he relentlessly attacked down the field against Houston-Baptist’s outclassed secondary. It had been nearly 10 games since Anthony last cleared the 300-yard mark, so seeing him do so here was encouraging. Louisiana Tech are set to face BYU on Oct. 2.

BYU Cougars Game Notes

BYU junior QB Zach Wilson completed 23-of-28 passes for 392 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 48-7 win over Troy. These are Lincoln Riley offense numbers. Sure, BYU are a Power Five level team, whereas Troy are in the Group of Five, but Wilson putting up these kinds of passing numbers is outrageous. Wilson was connecting on everything at every level, proving to be efficient in the short game just as he was explosive down the field. Wilson now has two games in a row with at least 70% completion and two touchdowns. Expect Wilson to rip off another huge game against Louisiana Tech on Oct. 2.

Louisiana Tech vs. BYU Betting Predictions
