Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Game Notes

Louisiana Tech and Georgia Southern will meet in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on December 23. The Bulldogs will look to use the New Orleans Bowl appearance as an opportunity to bounce back from its most disappointing effort of the season, as they dropped a 52-10 decision at TCU on Saturday. Skip Holtz’s team is currently 5-4 on the season, while Georgia Southern dropped to 7-5 with its 34-26 home loss to Appalachian State. Georgia Southern has split the two games that it has played since HC Chad Lunsford fired OC Bob DeBesse on November 30.

Georgia Southern Eagles Game Notes

Georgia Southern senior quarterbacks Miller Mosley and Shai Werts are listed as co-starters on the depth chart released ahead of the Eagles’ New Orleans Bowl matchup with Louisiana Tech. Werts is the usual starter, but he has been sidelined in recent weeks due to injury. Mosley is Georgia Southern’s third-string quarterback, but he was pressed into action during a December 12 loss to Appalachian State after Justin Tomlin was injured. Werts returning to the depth chart is good news for Georgia Southern, but there is no guarantee that he will be able to play Wednesday afternoon.
