L.A. Tech Bulldogs Game Notes

Hank Bachmeier (shoulder) will be monitored as he throws Tuesday and Wednesday before a decision on his status is made later in the week, Matt Belinson of the Ruston Daily Leader reports. Bachmeier was unable to give it a go last week versus Nebraska due to the shoulder issue, and his status for Week 5 remains unclear as well. Hopefully, the team will provide an update on his availability before Friday’s contest versus UTEP.

UTEP Miners Game Notes

Gavin Hardison (undisclosed) is a game-time decision for Friday’s game versus Louisiana Tech, Colin Deaver of KTSM 9 News reports. Hardison missed practice earlier this week due to an undisclosed injury but said he “felt great”. If he’s unable to suit up Friday, Kevin Hurley and Jake McNamara are candidates to start at quarterback.

Louisiana Tech vs. UTEP Betting Prediction

I know this line seems strange with UTEP sitting at 1-4 on the season. That said, look at their opponents the last three weeks: at Northwestern, at Arizona and vs. UNLV. I know that’s not Georgia, Alabama and USC, but to UTEP that’s a daunting schedule. The Miners are overdue. Their passing game is better than it has shown thus far and I believe it’ll come alive tonight. The Bulldogs aren’t good defensively and they’re banged up at quarterback. I think UTEP comes out fired up tonight, picks up its second win of the season and burns a lot of public bettors that are backing LA Tech.
