Louisiana Tech vs. Western Kentucky C-USA Title Game Predictions 12/3/16

Conference USA Title Game Prediction

Will Western Kentucky roll as a double-digit favorite today against Louisiana Tech in the Conference USA Championship Game at 12:00PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Hilltoppers are now 10-point home favorites versus the Bulldogs after opening as a 7.5-point favorite earlier in the week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 73.5 but has jumped all the way up to 79.5 with bettors and sports books readying themselves for a high-scoring game.

LA TECH KEY TRENDS: The Bulldogs are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games versus a team with a winning record, are 6-1 against the number in their last seven games overall, and are 5-1 at the betting window in their last six conference tilts. They’re also 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games and have covered in nine of 12 coming off a loss.

WESTERN KENTUCKY KEY TRENDS: The Hilltoppers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall, are 4-1 against the number in their last five conference games and have covered in nine of their last 12 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous contest. They’re also 4-1 at the betting window in their last five games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game.

OUR PREDICTION: Ten points seems like a lot to lay on a Western Kentucky team that a) already lost to LA Tech 55-52 earlier this year and b) is playing in a conference title game. That said, look at what the Hilltoppers have done since that loss to the Bulldogs: They’ve rattled off six straight wins while averaging 51.5 points per game and allowing just 17.3 points per contest. Over their last three games, the Hilltoppers allowed 21, 7 and 6 points to the opposition. Granted, they weren’t playing LA Tech, but the Bulldogs are not playing as well defensively as the Hilltoppers over that same span. With WKU also in a revenge spot, I’ll lay the points.
