Marshall favored against Louisiana Tech in Conference USA Championship

Marshall favored in CUSA title game

HUNTINGTON, WV (The Spread) – On its home turf, will Marshall bring too much to the table against Louisiana Tech in the Conference USA Championship Game?

View Current College Football Odds

Marshall has been the dominant force all season in Conference USA, but then the Thunder Herd suffered a 67-66 OT loss to Western Kentucky last week, making them seem beatable. Still, Marshall is 8-4 against the spread this season.

Oddsmakers don’t see the Herd slipping, as oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, have made Marshall a 13.5-point favorite on their home turf this Saturday at Noon on ESPN2 against Louisiana Tech (View Matchup). The over/under total for the game is listed at 68.5 points.

Louisiana Tech has had a decent run as well, winning six of its last seven, including a 76-point showing last week against Rice at home. The Bulldogs are 9-3 against the spread this season, and they have covered in four of their last five games.

The key in this game will be Marshall’s rushing attack, which ranks second in the nation with 288.5 yards per game on the ground. It meets a Louisiana Tech rushing defense that led the conference, allowing just 117.7 yards per game. Marshall’s Devon Johnson could find himself lowering his 8.6-yards per carry average on Saturday.
